The Interlake AA Maroons Softball Club completed their 2nd Annual “Strike Out! Cancer” fundraising event this evening, and we could not be more proud of the work our 43 participants and coaches put in this year!

All together, the crew hit it “outta the park” this year and raised an amazing $1,660 towards this fundraising event.

All donations collected will be donated to CancerCareMB on behalf of the AA Maroons Softball Club!

Way to go girls!

Apr. 6/24

The Interlake AA Maroons Softball Program is pleased to announce registrations for tryouts for the 2024 season are now open.

Tryouts continue to be tentatively scheduled for May 4/5 and May 11/12 (times still being confirmed).

However, with the weather starting to improve, there is a chance we may be able to start tryouts on April 27/28.

As such, attached is a link to a Google Form for you to fill out to register for the 2024 tryouts, and help us determine the best dates in order to offer the tryouts.

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeAR_qjAJhGgzsHN7jDurTI7TF4ByWLo4_5U0zqTvyV_vpbFQ/viewform?usp=sf_link

(Note: Click on the link and / or copy it and paste it into your web browser).

Our intent is to have players come to 2 separate sessions over the two weekends, which will allow all players to have suitable opportunities to demonstrate their skills in each of the activities being planned out (I.e. hitting, throwing, catching, fielding, etc.).

For example, they could come to a session on May 4 and then one in May 11. Conversely, they may be able to complete their 2 sessions between May 4 & May 5.

At this point, we are asking for you to please fill out the attached form, in its entirety, providing details on both your player, but also the sessions they reasonably could / could not attend.

This way we will ensure we can plan sufficient sessions (but not more than 2 separate weekends) to complete all tryouts for this season.

Ideally, we would like to be able to get all tryouts done in 1 weekend, but that will entirely depend on your feedback, as we want to be able to reasonably accommodate all candidates.

Please have your responses completed by the end of next week (Friday, April 12) so we can continue to plan out our tryout schedule.

Hey Maroons Fans…be sure to “Save these Dates”

The AA Maroons are excited to announce tryouts for our 2024 season will run on May 4/5 and May 11/12 (both Saturday’s & Sunday’s)

Tryouts will be held in Stonewall’s Quarry Park (subject to weather conditions).

This year, based on a strong showing of registrations at the Community Softball (A) level, we are optimistic we can field teams at the U11, U13, U15 & U17 levels!

Tryout time slots for each age grouping will be released as we get closer to May.

Registrants will be strongly encouraged to attend 2 of the tryout sessions in order to have sufficient opportunity to demonstrate their skills and talents, as part of the recruitment process for the 2024 Maroons.

As a reminder, to be eligible to play AA ball, players must first register and play for their local community ball club (i.e BlueJays, Hawks, WildCats, Orioles, WSP Stars, etc.).

Right now, please mark these dates down in your calendars so your player won’t miss their chance to be part of this exciting upcoming season as part of “the few…the proud…the Maroons”.

virtual information session will be held in mid April about the 2024 AA Program, to provide parents with an overview about the team, coaching selection process, player expectations, projected registration fees, parent engagement opportunities, practice / game / showcase / Provincial tournament opportunities, etc.

A separate invite will be circulated, via RAMP later this week.

2024 is going to be a great season of AA softball in the Interlake…

…and it all starts in just 35 days with a strong showing at all levels for AA tryouts in May!

Nov. 30/23

Just a quick update to let you know that we are currently working to determine the best methods for us to accommodate as many athletes as possible during our upcoming hitting / fielding camps scheduled for Jan / Feb.

Due to the overwhelming response for this skills camp from our AA program athletes, we have nearly 60 signed up, and are evaluating all options for additional sessions.

We anticipate having further details to share the week of December 11th, and will be reaching out to everyone that has pre-signed up for our camps at that time.

In the meantime we appreciate your patience, as we are working hard to maximize participation potential.

On another note, be sure to check us out on social media by following the Interlake Phillies AA Program on Instagram.

**Our camp is FULL, but we will be keeping a waitlist**

Thanks to everyone for expressing such interest in our AA development Winter camp!

In just 24 hours we had an overwhelming number of players indicate their interest in participating in our hitting / fielding camp. In fact, we have already reached capacity, and started a reserve list of participants.

At this point, while you can still sign up for the program, you will be placed on the reserve listing due to capacity being reached already.

In the next few weeks we will be working to develop tentative schedules for the two groupings and providing further details on payment.

For those who are on the waiting list, once confirmed based on time of registration, you will also be contacted about next steps.

In the meantime time, there is no further action required, provided you have completed and submitted your player’s info via the link in the initial email.

At this point, we cannot completely confirm who will / will not be accepted into the camp, as we need to review the sign up list.

If you have any other questions about the program itself, contact our AA Director at interlakephilliesaadirector@gmail.com.
