The South Interlake Phillies Organization was created in 1995, as a single team formed by local enthusiasts, Larry and Phyllis Klimpke. It was formed with the intention of giving females in the Interlake a place and an opportunity to play “A” (now AAA) level baseball.
Since then the Phillies Organization has grown to be one of the most dominant organizations in Manitoba, with many of its teams being Provincial Champions and Western Canadian National contenders. Phillies players have been recognized as Provincial MVP’s, Canadian and National All Stars, and members of Team Canada. Numerous girls have grown up playing through the Phillies system and have attended US and Canadian Colleges to play softball on athletic scholarships.
